They may be best known today for their later roles, but these six stars all got their first break by playing super heroes on TV. Maybe these shows aren ’t the most memorable or well-made super hero projects, and they aren’t the highlight of the actor’s career, but these little shows jump-started the careers of some future celebrities.
Bruce Lee
Started out as—Kato, the Kung-Fu fighting sidekick to the Green Hornet in the TV series The Green Hornet (1966).
After that—Lee had a recurring role in the detective series Longstreet before returning to Hong Kong to star in a highly successful trio of films; The Big Boss (1971); the Chinese Connection (1972) and the Way of the Dragon (1972). His first and only Hollywood film was Enter the Dragon (1973). Lee died young and his legend has grown ever since. He is considered by many as the greatest martial arts star in the history of film. »

Shoot And Loot In Third-Person With This Borderlands: The

Pre-Sequel Mod

When a third-party game releases on PC, it’s only a matter of time before the modding community crack open the code and start rewiring at will. It reminds us of the scene fromLethal Weapon 3 where Riggs and Murtagh (who was only 8 days away from retirement) attempt to defuse the car bomb whilst bickering like an old married couple.
Thankfully, the stakes aren’t quite so high when it comes to altering the code of a video game, as YouTube user TFXLive proved after adding a third-person perspective into Gearbox Software’s Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel.
Here’s a rundown from TFXLive, who states that the alternative viewpoint can only be used when exploring as one of the four playable characters, given that the perspective switches back to normal just as a player attempts to pull the trigger.

From Under the Radar to Potential Oscar Contention

The conversation surrounding potential supporting actress nominees includes some names familiar to the Oscar race, such as Meryl Streep(Into the Woods), and some that could be nominated for the first time, such as Emma Stone (Birdman). The list of potential contenders also includes Patricia Arquette (Boyhood) and Rene Russo (Nightcrawler), two ladies that have flown under the radar since the 90s but could mark their return with first-time Oscar nominations.
Arquette’s role as the mother in Richard Linklater ’s Boyhood, a film that chronicles 12 years in a young boy’s (played by Ellar Coltrane) life as he grows up in a divorced household, has been generating Oscar buzz since the film premiered at Sundance. Arquette was involved in a few projects during those 12 years of filming, which was possible due to the sporadic nature of shooting, only three to four days a year. »

Thanos VFX breakdown for Guardians of the Galaxy

We’ll soon be seeing a lot more of Thanos in the Marvel Cinematic Universe when the Mad Titan takes centre stage for Avengers: Infinity War, but in the meantime we’ve had to make do with his post-credits scenes in The Avengers and Avengers: Age of Ultron, as well as a brief appearance in Guardians of the Galaxy.
While we await his next appearance (Thor: Ragnarok?), the folks at Luma Pictures have posted a featurette which delves into the VFX work that went into bringing Thanos to life for Guardians of the Galaxy, and you can check it out here (via Comic Book)…
“Loic Zimmermann our concept designer took the most prevalent features of Josh Brolin that we thought would stand out the most and put them into who the character is underneath,” Luma Pictures VFX supervisor Vincent Cirelli tells FX Guide. “He began blending those elements. Did Avengers: Age of Ultron negate the one thing that makes Ant-Man special?

James Garcia on how Avengers: Age of Ultron accidentally eliminated the one thing that makes Ant-Man stand apart from the crowd. Be warned, Age of Ultron spoilers abound…
For Avengers: Age of Ultron, director Joss Whedon was faced with several enormously difficult tasks; he had to make a riveting follow-up to his much beloved first Avengers team-up, give each of the film’s new and returning cast members their due, and spend some of that screentime laying the groundwork for several upcoming Marvel projects as well. While he managed, for the most part, to succeed in those three tasks, he also inadvertently stepped on one of the only things that makes Ant-Man – the Avenger up to bat – stand apart from his McU brethren.
The lead has been buried in the film’s marketing in favor of selling audiences on the rather goofy premise, but at Ant-Man‘s core is a story about fathers and daughters. »

Cara Delevingne was driven out of a Cannes party by ex-girlfriend Michelle Rodriguez last night (20.05.15).
The 22-year-old supermodel was at the De Grisogono bash at the Hotel du Cap with her new girlfriend, St Vincent, 32, but as soon as Cara heard her ‘Fast and Furious’ star ex – who she broke up with after six months together in June 2014 – had arrived, she made a swift exit, telling friends, “I can’t face seeing her”.
Sources said: “Cara and Michelle haven ’t spoken since the split and they aren ’t friends anymore. Cara was with her new girlfriend and she couldn't face any kind of awkward confrontation.
“As soon as they heard Michelle had arrived they left. Cara was telling her pals she just didn’t want the hassle. She left the bash at about 1am and headed back to her hotel. Very tame behaviour.”

10 Movies That Were Almost Completely Unrecognisable

Universal Pictures
The road from script to screen is often a tortured one. There will be numerous rewrites, actor changes, problems with the budget or location and a million other issues. Making any movie, even a terrible one, is punishing work.
So it’s no wonder that movies can morph into something almost unrecognisable from their original concept. A script written as a serious drama can turn into a wacky comedy, or an action vehicle written for Tom Cruise can be retooled for Angelina Jolie instead (check out Salt for more information).
Case in point: Edgar Wright had been planning Ant-Man for a decade, getting as far as pre-production and casting before “creative differences” with Marvel boiled up. His script was hastily rewritten and a new director brought on-board, and it seems little if any of Wright’s input will remain. Likewise The Hobbit was originally planned as two movies with Guillermo del Toro helming. »

On May 26th, 1995, music video director and artist Robert Longo made his directorial debut with Johnny Mnemonic, an adaptation of William Gibson’s futuristic short story of the same name (Gibson also penned the screenplay) that starred Keanu Reeves in the titular role as a “mnemonic courier” who finds himself in the middle of a corporate conspiracy with implications for all of mankind.
Johnny Mnemonic celebrates its 20th anniversary this month, and while it may not necessarily be a film many sci-fi fans celebrate, it’s always held a special place in my heart, undoubtedly being one of the coolest films I saw that year and one that also revi  talized the cyberpunk film movement (yes, even before The Matrix came along and did it a bit more effectively).
For the uninitiated, Johnny Mnemonic transports us to the year 2021; in the opening text crawl, we learn that corporations have taken over »

'JFK' movie with Kevin Costner as Jim Garrison 'JFK' assassination movie: Gripping political drama gives added meaning to 'Rewriting History' If it's an Oliver Stone film, it must be bombastic, sentimental, clunky, and controversial. With the exception of "clunky," JFK is all of the above. It is also riveting, earnest, dishonest, moving, irritating, paranoid, and, more frequently than one might expect, outright brilliant. In sum, Oliver Stone's 1991 poltical thriller about a determined district attorney's investigation of the assassination of U.S. president John F. Kennedy is a slick piece of propaganda that mostly works both dramatically and cinematically. If only some of the facts hadn't gotten trampled on the way to film illustriousness. With the exception of John Williams' overemphatic score – Oliver Stone films need anything but overemphasis – JFK's technical and artistic details are put in place to extraordinary effect. Joe Hutshing and Pietro Scalia 's editing »
